    As for the increase, we are seeing higher claims costs in New Jersey, so an increase is necessary to be able to continue paying policyholders' claims.

    Just make less profit. Did that ever occur to you? I haven't had an accident in 20 years. I know all about the "spread the risk" concept. It's really amusing to me that people who are against universal health insurance and the mandatory purchase to "spread the risk" bend over and let the car insurance companies stick it to them for the same concept. I have written to the NJ insurance ombudsman and the newspapers telling them of this gouging of consumers. I got a quote from esurance for $200 less than what I am paying State Farm now. My agent has been out of the office but you can bet he'll get an earful when he gets back.

    BTW, Ellen: Ed Rust makes over 13 million. He got a raise after ripping off all those Katrina victims. State Farm cried "poor mouth", but actually profited billions. State Farm bilked the US Taxpayers for millions by shoving responsibility for wind damage onto the Taxpayers by manipulating Engineer reports.
