First it was contacting the driver (they screwed up and put the claim on a guys fil with the same name but different state, which I dont know how they screwed up given that I gave them his policy number), now their questioning whether or not his coverage extends to a rental (which it does or they wouldn't have rented him the car)."

We had 5 inches of rain that night and had 3 inches in my kitchen. There adjusters are a joke. Waited over a week before one was sent out. Today we received a Notice of Non-Renewal on our auto policy. When I called the agent and asked why, I was told that we had too many claims in the past year. July 2009 my horse Zeus died from a ruptured intestine from Colic. State Farm did not pay out on the policy. They said that Colic is an illness. I said so what. This policy was for death. You can be sure as a horse owner I would have discontinued my monthly payments and found another insurance company. I am so discussed with State Farm.. At the final meeting between myself and my contractor and State Farm's adjuster and State Farm's hired contractor (their expert), I drove 75 miles to the SF office and SF's contractor didn't even show up. I am more traumatized by my two year battle with State Farm than I was by surviving the devastation of the tornado ( a direct hit). I triumphed over the trauma of the storm. Then, ironically, as I continued the fight against them into the following year, they chose to cancel my policy. They stated that it was because I had filed two claims (distinctly weather related) in two years. Eight months after moving into my very first home, it was sustained a direct hit by a tornado. I survived but the a substantial part of the roof was caved in by the full grown trees that came smashing through the rafters and almost down upon me. The sidewalls were bowed completely. (They colluded, that's how.). 13 weeks later, straight line winds hit my already smashed house and futher damaged it--about 6000 in fresh damage as I recall.
I fought SF for two years. They shelled out big bucks to pay for my housing while this was going on. All I ever wanted was a fair settlement, as other contractors and an independent adjuster estimated my home a total loss."

I feel betrayed....my business has been struggling with the difficult economy and now my premiums for 3 autos just had to go up over $100 /mth with less coverage that what I've had. They advise I seek whatever medical treatment necessary as they acknowledged 100% liability. I do seek treatment - and then they conveniently deny paying the Dr bill. They have been provided all necessary documentation from the DR and still won't pay the balance. Once this matter is resolved I will be taking our business elsewhere and I truly advise you do the same. I have also carried SF for almost 20 yrs, full coverage on my vehicles and homes and the one time I actually need to rely on them, they let me down. I have filed a complaint with the IL Dept of Insurance. Seriously - like so many other horror stories I'd heard, but didn't believe - UNTIL it happened to me. I suggest you don't wait until it happens to you."

The other driver admitted negligence and was ticketed for the accident. Her side accepted full liability and called to advice seeking medical treatment if needed. So I did. After a month of taking a prescription that didn't help I seeked 4 mos of chiropractic treatment which was yielding results. State Farm has denied $1700 worth of diagnostic tests done. I tried to explain that a brain surgeon wouldn't go in w/out xrays but they simply stamp it denied and here I am with unpaid bills for an accident that wasn't at ALL my fault. Great customer service. I just wanted to warn any customers to beware. Their 'mission' that's claimed on this FB page is a joke. They are not there for you when you need them. I have carried SF for over 20 yrs, never needed to rely on them - and yet they won't own up to their responsibility."

The other loser in this is my State Farm agent. What a great guy. But in spite of all his good efforts the company left him out in the cold without a valued customer. Took two weeks to get any communication going through State Farm--car is totaled. Bad information from State Farm as to what should have been on the title. Fibs, Lies, and misleading information are what I have got through this whole process. State Farm has my car, my title, and my money. After 24 years and having 10 policies with them at one time, I get poor customer service and abuse? I believe the CEO needs to go undercover in his own agency and figure out what is really going on in this gigantic business. I am from a small town and I thought having the same agent for the 24 years would be of assistance--no assistance; fighting the battle on my own. Hope to have it resolved this week and will be seriously considering taking the nine policies I have with them to someone who appreciates my business and my money.
