Facebook | Saddle Horse Ins. DONT BUY!: "Heather Vernon I purchased the “saddle horse” insurance from State Farm about 16 years ago. I have owned 5 horses during that time. Each was placed on this policy during the 16 years while I owned them. Our State Farm Agent sold my mother this policy after we bought our first horse. I NEVER HAD A CLAME in 16 YEARS! July 2009 my horse Zeus died from a ruptured intestine from Colic. State Farm did not pay out on the policy. They said that Colic is an illness. I said so what. This policy was for death. Our Agent never said or gave us paperwork saying there were exemptions! Now maybe in the last 16 years State Farm added this exemption. HOWEVER they should have said something. You can be sure as a horse owner I would have discontinued my monthly payments and found another insurance company. I am so discussed with State Farm.. They did NOT “Have me covered” as their slogan says. I lost a beloved pet to something I had no control over. “State Farm is there for you when you need us” NOT!! PLEASE DON’T BUY THEIR “SADDLE HORSE” INSURANCE. It does NOTHING!"
